What does clinical
research involve?
Clinical research is part of the complex procedure to demonstrate
the effectiveness and safety of new drugs in the pharmaceutical
industry. These new drugs are previously tested on animals and
eventually are given to human beings once drugs have demonstrated to
be safe. Research teams and patients around the world have
participated in the development of most drugs. Studies are conducted
to determine the effectiveness of the drug according to their dose
and specificity. For any new drug development studies there are
four phases where volunteers subjects can participate before the
drug is approved by the health department to be used in the general
public. Once the drug is proved to be safe and effective, the health
department will then authorize for public consumption.
Who is IMIC?
IMIC is
a medical facility where clinical investigation is performed by a
professional medical research group for the development of new drugs
for many diseases or therapeutic areas. Medical qualified personnel
are available to guide you and manage the conduct of all clinical
trials.
What can I
expect if I join a trial?
Your
participation is voluntary, but if you deicide to participate in one
of our trials, experienced medical personnel will discuss all
aspects of the study extensively before you make your decision. Once
you decide to participate, an informed consent is offered to you
that will inform you with all the terms and rights for you during
the study. If you agree with the terms, then you will sign it and a
copy is given to you. Your name and other personal information is
maintained confidential at all times. Most important, you can
withdraw from the study at any time.
